Wow - WWI bunker work

Now this is inspiring - the era doesn't do anything for me, but this great modeling and step-by-step does a lot for me - great work

WWI Aces at Dawn at timmys

Played Dave's mods for a WWI ruleset entitled Aces at Dawn by MJ12Games.

Took all of us awhile to get used to how to fly. Not that the rules are hard, just getting used to the mechanics. For example I flew my second plane way too fast, in fact almost off the board.

Again, Dave did some great work on the models. I would comment on his mods but I've never played them so I don't know what he changed. Perhaps he can comment here and let us know.

Here's a quick video of the game.

Dave such a good job of helping expose us to a variety of games. Good gaming role model. Also, I've been enjoying this group of gamers because they're passionate yet flexible. Some of us are pretty confident what we think a game should do and be. However, we're open to playing a different set even if they do things out of our paradigm. We roll with it, call each names, and then laugh about the bad moves and bad rolls.

WWI at Jerry's

This one happened at Jerry's during Geekway, which explains why not much got done with these pics until now. Jerry made this board out of the blue home insulation foam. He said it was very messy. But it looks like it was worth it. What a great looking table. Sounds like it was a fun game.

Go to the Command Decision Test of Battle Forum to see his complete write up with more photos.

Couple more photos from the forum:

Pre-Game Pics of Jerry's CDTOB WWI Board

Jerry is getting ready for another Command Decision WWI game in 15mm. He's been spending a lot of time on these great looking boards.

Jerry will send me more info on the boards. Ask any questions you have and he'll be glad answer them.

Command Decision TOB WWI

Went to Jerry's house and watched him put in a game of Command Decision Test of Battle. It was an ahistorical game between France and Germany.

Unfortunately, I didn't get too many photos of the troops, especially the French.

I didn't play the game and just watched and left before it was over. However, the German right was crumbling. The center and left were about to engage in two turns.
