Help a Brother Gamer and Creator Out

Here's a link to a GoFundMe for Chuck, art director at Frog God Games (rpg) has had to undergo amputation due to complications around diabetes. This is a campaign to help cover some of the expenses.

If you're so inclined, you can also comment on Erik Tenkar's blog posts by April 30th to get into a drawing for some rpg gear that some very generous companies have donated to encourage people to give.

Where Have I Been?

Here's a video where I explain a little where I've been over the past few months. I've been creating a business focused podcast called Inspired and Intentional. It covers the challenge of employee disengagement. Gallup reports 70% of U.S. workers are disengaged.

There are many companies out there trying to balance profits and social impact while running well-managed, focused, excited organizations.

Here's the link to the website, Inspired and Intentional.com. There are links to the podcast. If you're willing, I would appreciate a nice review on itunes and/or stitcher.

Battletech Lance Packs on Pre-Order

From the Catalyst Labs website
"We’ve been working towards this for a long time, and it is finally here!!!! Below is the sell sheet of complete details and release months for all 8 BattleTech Lance Packs. (All of them are in the warehouse, so no production issues can leap in the way of a great six months of releases.)"

Perfect for playing Alpha Strike. I really like that they're coming out with these.

Lock n Load Publishing News

There's a new sheriff in town at Lock N Load and they've announced it with a comprehensive newsletter.

What stood out to me
1. In house printing will mean they're able to keep line of fire magazine issues in print, with printed maps and counters. (Exception - issues 1-6 have counters printed on card stock that you would have to paste on counter material yourself.)
2. A nice schedule of upcoming printings of games.
3. They put the call out for freelance artists, game/module designers, etc.

I wish them luck in their new path.

I'm looking forward to Mare Nostrum, Heroes of the Pacific, and Band of Heroes. Though on BoH, I'm tempted to find a much cheaper used copy and just start playing all these scenarios I have.

Alpha Strike Companion Available

It's available for preorder - go check it out. The PDF and Hardcopy combo are $49.99. The PDF alone is $15. I think I would want both in this case. As I've said in earlier posts, it appears this will be a nice way to had some layers and chrome to your quick playing Battletech Alpha Strike games.

You can access information and purchase links on the Catalyst Game Labs Battletech blog on the Alpha Strike Companion.

Alpha Strike Table of Contents

Randall just posted the table of contents for the upcoming Alpha Strike Companion book. It appears to add some nice features and allows the game to expand a bit. With points conversion rules you rivet heads will get To make your own mechs.

I like the additional movement and campaign rules.

Domain Change for Commander Series of Games

Pete Jones over at Specialist Publishing has changed the domains for my favorite ruleset, Blitzkreig Commander II and it's sister rulesets.

Good move Pete.

Contents of his email below:

Great Customer Service

A couple weeks ago I bought Nuts! At Scale Creep Miniatures near Chicago. Had a great time chatting with Mark or a couple hours. As we spoke on rules, he spoke very highly of Nuts!. So I bought the 2ed rules and the Easy Front Supplement, Clash of Titans.

When I got home that night from Chicago I looked up Nuts! Online to see what I could learn about it.

I learned that the third and "Final Edition" was coming out soon. Very soon. Mark Severin saw this in my posts and offered to give me the Third edition in PDF when it came out. I thought that was pretty cool.

Then Ed, the owner of Two Hour Wargames, learned of this and also offered to send me the PDF when released.

Which he did, last night! Thank you Ed.

I really appreciate both guys helping me out. Very cool.

Go visit Mark's website, Scale Creep Miniatures, to buy rules, minis, and terrain

His big focus is on smaller scales (6mm). But as his company name implies his inventory has even seen some scale creep with 15s and other scales. He's a one man, one dog shop, but is a gamer, modeler, terrain maker that can share some great tips with you.

Ed, at Two Hour Wargames has a wide range of rulesets, covering a wide range of genres and eras. As I dig into the rules,  I'm getting a sense that he favors the cinematic, the people and the story. I'll have to get more into that in another post.

Here are links to their relevant sites. (Side note: does anyone know how to hyperlink in the blogger iOS app?)

Mark's personal site - reviews and terrain tips abound

Thank you to all the great people in this business/hobby.

More Details on Alpha Strike Plastic Lance Packs

Randall's posted more info on the cards ad plastic lance packs.

8 double sided cards means 16 different mech cards. Interesting critical hit boxes have been added. In addition, it appears they've been adjusted to the new point values.

I'm sticking with my previous post prediction - these will sell out.

I told my son, $20 for 4 and he said, "$5 a miniature!?"
I said, "IWM are $15 and you have to assemble them. And you get 8 cards."

Look at me, arguing with my 13 year old that my toys are worth it.

Hmmm, maybe I need to take a look in the mirror. ; )

I'm sure there will be more to come.
