Academy Games Sponsors Geekway to the West

Uwe sent us a couple games to help sponsor Geekway 2013.  Very much appreciated getting these two games, Conflict of Heroes and 1812 The Invasion of Canada.

BTW, my hope with having these posts of these games is to introduce you, if you're not familar with some cool wargames that may help introduce you, if you're strictly a miniature gamer, to the cool world of games available.

Thank you Academy Games

Wargames for Geekway to the West Part 3

A couple more games, really more for my collection. Whatever is in my collection is in the library so it all counts.  A new one (to me) and an old one that brings back memories of my childhood.

Wargames for Geekway to the West Part 2

Just continuing from the previous post on getting some games for www.geekway2west.com.  Oh yeah, there's still time to register.

I also need to reach out to the local wargame community to make sure they're aware we're growing the collection.

I like the picture at the beginning with my son who doesn't like these wargames.

Between the five of us organizers we have around 800 games.  We always want to add to the library and our focus is in getting the top 500 games ranked on www.BoardGameGeek.com.  Some of those, of course are wargames, so I've been tasked with getting those games.  In addition, we look out for new games that may be hot right now.  Though, those usually go on our Play and Win table.  In addition we use our judgement if a hot game now will be around for a few years and thus should be in the library.

Because they go out of print and many don't return, it's important to keep an eye on things.  My goal is to get the top 100 wargames.  Beginning with those in the top 500 and then moving to the ones that interest me.  And finally to the rest that will fill out the lists.

Anyway, here's a video of some of the acquisitions and one's I currently have.  The other organizers have many as well.
