That's a very useful idea, and his tutorial looks like it would enable most hobbyist to make one of these mats. This type of mat could also be used for SAGA, Muskets & Tomahawks, Longstreet, etc. (where the core map could be the same, but with terrain elements added to change the scenario/period).
