Hmmm, I thought I left a comment on your 5.5 post, but it doesn't look like it went through. I was wondering, as a hex-and-chit ignoramus, what material you lay over your board. I like the idea of using dry erase markers to keep notes directly on the board. Is it a commercial product, or just some material you cut to size for each game board? Looking forward to seeing how this game pans out!
Went to lowes/homedepot and had then cut a few different sizes from a larger piece of plexiglass. I got a square, couple rectangles and a couple of 12"x12" squares. I wouldn't cut this just because I can't cut as straight and I don't have the right blade.
Yes, it's great to use on the paper maps...
But now I'm recalling for this one - I used an acrylic frame I bought at michaels. Instead of some bikini model poster, I put in the game map.
I put the maps back in the boxes when I'm finished with each play. With wargames, some kind of acrylic is a must.
